Ingredients

  • 1 pound elbow macaroni
  • 2 cups cooked lobster meat roughly chopped
  • 4 cups sharp cheddar cheese freshly grated
  • 2 cups gruyere cheese freshly grated
  • 4 cups whole milk
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon white pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 4 tablespoons melted butter
  • 1/4 cup parmesan cheese grated
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley chopped

Instructions

  • Set oven to 375°F (190°C). Cook macaroni in salted water until just al dente (about 2 minutes less than package instructions).
  • Melt butter in a large saucepan over medium heat. Add flour and whisk constantly for 1-2 minutes until golden. Gradually add milk while whisking to prevent lumps. Cook until sauce thickens enough to coat the back of a spoon. Remove from heat and stir in cheeses until melted.
  • Fold lobster meat and cooked pasta into cheese sauce. Transfer to a 9x13 baking dish. Mix topping ingredients and sprinkle evenly over the top.
  • Bake until golden brown and bubbly (25-30 minutes). Let rest for 10 minutes before serving.
