Ingredients

  • 6 cups fresh blackberries
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • ¼ cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup packed brown sugar
  • ½ cup rolled oats
  • ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • ½ cup 1 stick cold unsalted butter, cut into cubes

Instructions

  • Gently rinse the blackberries under cool water and drain them well. Remove any stems or leaves. In a large bowl, combine the blackberries, granulated sugar, flour, lemon juice, and lemon zest. Toss everything together gently to ensure the blackberries are evenly coated.
  • In a separate bowl, combine the flour, brown sugar, oats, and cinnamon. Add the cold, cubed butter to the dry ingredients. Using a pastry blender or your fingertips, cut the butter into the flour mixture until it resembles coarse crumbs.
  • Pour the blackberry filling into a 9-inch pie dish. Evenly distribute the crumble topping over the blackberry filling.
  • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Place the Blackberry Crumble Pie on a baking sheet to catch any drips. Bake for 45-50 minutes, or until the crumble topping is golden brown and the filling is bubbly.
  • Remove the pie from the oven and let it cool on a wire rack for at least 30 minutes before serving.
