Ingredients

  • 1 lb fresh tilapia fillets
  • 8 small corn or flour tortillas
  • 1 cup shredded purple cabbage
  • 1 ripe avocado sliced
  • 1/2 cup diced red onion
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro
  • 1 lime cut into wedges
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  • Rub the tilapia fillets with olive oil, then sprinkle both sides evenly with the spice mix. Let them sit at room temperature for 10 minutes to soak up the flavors.
  • Heat your grill or grill pan to medium-high. Place the fillets on the grill and cook for 3–4 minutes per side. The fish is done when it flakes easily with a fork. Avoid moving it too much—this helps get those nice grill marks!
  • Place tortillas directly on the grill for 20–30 seconds per side until warm and slightly charred. Stack them in a towel to keep them soft.
  • Flake the grilled tilapia into chunks. Layer cabbage, avocado, red onion, and fish on each tortilla. Top with cilantro, a squeeze of lime, and a drizzle of lime crema or hot sauce.
