Cook egg noodles according to package directions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
Brown ground beef in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Drain excess grease.
Add chopped onion to the skillet and cook until softened, about 3-5 minutes. Add minced garlic and cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
Stir in salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder.
In a large bowl, combine cream of mushroom soup, sour cream, and milk. Whisk until smooth.
Add cooked noodles and seasoned ground beef to the sauce. Stir to combine.
Pour mixture into the prepared baking dish and spread evenly.
Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese over the top.
Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until bubbly and cheese is melted and lightly golden brown.
Let rest for a few minutes before serving.
