Hamburger Casserole

A comforting, family-friendly dinner that combines the flavors of a hamburger with the convenience of a casserole. Layers of seasoned ground beef, melted cheese, and tender pasta.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 1 medium onion diced
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 can 10.5 oz cream of mushroom soup
  • 2 cups elbow macaroni uncooked
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 can 14.5 oz diced tomatoes, undrained
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions
 

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13 inch baking dish.
  • Brown the ground beef in a large skillet over medium heat, breaking it up as it cooks. Drain excess fat.
  • Add diced onion and garlic to the beef, cooking until the onion becomes translucent (about 3-4 minutes).
  • Stir in the cream of mushroom soup, diced tomatoes, beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, and Italian seasoning.
  • Add the uncooked macaroni to the mixture and stir well to combine.
  • Pour the mixture into your prepared baking dish and cover tightly with foil.
  • Bake for 45 minutes, then remove foil and top with shredded cheese.
  • Return to oven, uncovered, for an additional 10-15 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly.
  • Let stand for 5 minutes before serving.
