Ingredients
  

  • 4 large croissants
  • 8 ounces fresh mozzarella cheese sliced
  • 2 medium ripe tomatoes sliced
  • 1/2 cup fresh basil leaves loosely packed
  • 2 tablespoons balsamic glaze
  • 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper optional

Instructions
 

  • Carefully slice each croissant horizontally, almost all the way through, leaving a small hinge.
  • Layer mozzarella cheese, tomato slices, and fresh basil leaves inside each croissant.
  • Brush the top and bottom of the croissants with olive oil.
  • Sprinkle salt over the tomatoes and add black pepper if desired. Drizzle balsamic glaze inside the croissants.
  • Optionally warm in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for 5-7 minutes or use a panini press until cheese softens.
